Meeting with SPA - Service Prosecution Authority

SPA decided NOT to prosecute any of the 3 officers in court marshial proceedings because they think there is not enough criminal evidence against them to convict at court.

Discussing with my Lawyer to decide what options are available including challenging the decision as there seems to be good grounds.

 JULY 1st 2009 - Meeting  in London

SIB  (special investiagation branch) and brigadier Mc'Avoy (SPA)

SIB have now concluded their investigations and have found that foul play had been committed as  there was an unofficial 3rd system of discipline at the Tidworth barracks in 2006.

The SIB has submitted 3 officers to be charged with various offences which will be releaed shortly

The Army overall has now got to agree that there was a systematic failure at the Tidworth barracks and except responsibility as they should have known about it and then discipline the culprits  who was committing these actions and ordering the illegal punishments

MEETING - Adjutant General  W.R.Rollo

Asking him questions on duty of care of young soldiers, punishment exercises, AWOL soldiers, training and discipline process including BEASTING culture in the army...

His replies were exactly what i hoped for in my quest to get someone accountable for what happened to Gavin, hopefully now the SIB can make their decision to prosecute whoever is responsible.

The general said that "BEASTING" is no longer part of military life and will not be tolerated in today's British Armed Forces

The meeting was attended by Lembit Opik MP, Joan Humble MP, and various families who have lost loved ones in combat and non combat situations

APRIL 14th/15th 2009 - Meeting with SSAFA and MFSG

SSAFA ... (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Families Association)

They are a support group independent of the MOD to help Families who has lost a loved ones in combat or non-combat situations.  I was invited to go to meet other families in the same situation so to help with the grieving process and to find out what other families are feeling about the way they have been treated by the MOD. It turned out to be a very good 2 days as i have found out alot more about how the MoD has treated the families who has lost someone and 99% of the families say that it's been appalling the way the Army and the MoD had treated them since their loss.

MFSG ... (Military Families Support Group)

They are a group that was set up by a number of people who has lost someone in combat or non-combat, they have all felt that they have been let down by the MoD in their loss because the of lack of proper equipment, Using the wrong type vehicle for the job etc.. There were lots of anger at the meeting towards the MoD for their failings to properly take care of the soldiers and they all want answers, which at the moment they are NOT getting.

Has a group we must stay together to force the MoD to admit responsibilty for the loss of our children.  I would just like to say that it was an eye opener to see so many families being lied to by the MoD and it's about time that they faced up to their escalating failings.

Listening to those families who has not been given any answers, i am so grateful that the Wiltshire Police got into the Barracks so quickly in Gavin,s case as i think it would have been another case of Gavin dying accidently or he committed sucide etc...

Please could everyone sign the petition below to help families get some answers as why their sons were killed due to lack of proper vehicles in combat...

 MARCH 12th 2009...

2 soldiers AWOL because of BEASTINGS & BULLYING

2 young soldiers went AWOL because they were subjected to being physically bullied and numerous BEASTINGS over a number of weeks at Buckley barracks in Wiltshire
3 years on from Gavin and they still continue to abuse young innocent soldiers by this illegal practice.
It is good to see that these soldiers had the courage to go public so they can get themselves heard, why should our young boys live in fear of our ARMY!

I am in contact with the 2 soldiers and they have ask for my help because they have nowhere else to turn because the Army has let them down and will not listen to their allegations of Bullying, So i will  helping them with legal advice and support until this Bullying investigation is concluded

They have made it clear that they do NOT want to return to camp as they feel unprotected from the culprits, So i will make sure they will get legal advice and all the help they can to keep them safe from them BULLIES in uniform.

They have already had advice to keep this allegation of Bullying in the public eye and to highlight the fact that other young soldiers can now speak out if they are getting Bullied in the Army and not be afraid anymore

The 2 boys have tried committing suicide in the first week of being AWOL because they would rather die than go back to the Army and that is very sad to hear when they are only 22 years old ....

 MARCH 6th 2009

Following advice from my lawyer and Media representtive i am in the middle of writing a letter to HM QUEEN as only now we found out that she is the COLONEL-IN-CHIEF of Gavin's regiment and the Head of the Armed Forces and it's only right she is aware what is going on in her British Army and what she intends to do about it in the near future

REPLY from HM Queen...

3 weeks later i received a reply from Her Majesty saying that she understands my anger and hurt and will be sending a letter to Mr John Hutton MP who is secretary of state for defence outlining her concerns about the illegal use of BEASTING and BULLYING in our Armed Forces and making sure that this case will be fully investigated.

she is keeping her eye on the Gavin's case with great intent....

  FEB 24th/25th 2009

SIB ( Special investigation branch)
Meeting in London went pretty well in regards to the SIB (Special Investigation Branch) telling me that there will be no cover up and a tooth combe investigation will take place. There should be a decision on any potential prosecutions by July 2009,

Then it will be up to the Service Prosecution Authority (SPA) to go ahead and prosecute or not ...... they better had!

The meeting in parliament with MP Wayne David also was positive as he agreed what happened to Gavin was appalling and the practice of BEASTING should not be tolerated in today's British army.
Wayne David together with my lawyer and other influential figures will be fighting with myself for justice for Gavin and to also try and make changes in the Army in regards to bullying (BEASTING)

With all the professional help and your help we can keep this case in the public eye so they know it's still being investigated and it's not going to get covered up by the Army in any way

 JAN 23rd 2009

I am meeting with the SIB in the army on 3rd FEB 2009 to discuss the investigation process into what happend to Gavin, and all 8 originally arrested by police are going to be investigated, and hopefully will be prosecuted by the Army for their failings in duty of care towards Gavin

What about the army overall for their failings???

My lawyer in london is dealing with the SIB (special investigation branch) in the Army to establish what the next course of action will be, It's not over by a long way and i will keep fighting until i get some justice for what happened to GAV, Even if it takes me to my grave

 JANUARY 20th 2009

There is going to be 2 investigations into what happened to Gavin:-

a)  SIB will look at the conduct of all 8 individuals    involved including the three medical staff

B)  Army Board of Enquiry which looks at the failings of the Army overall  in Gavin's case and we all know that there were plenty of them!

Then after the conclusion of those 2 investigations and if there is still NO prosecutions then there will hopefully be a public Inquest into Gavin's death
